Composite

Introduction of Composite

Composite material is consisted of two or more components. Typically, one of the materials acts as a substrate for the fixed structure, while the other acts as a reinforcing material that provides additional properties. With the rapid development of 3D printing, the demand for composite materials of various industries is increasing. As shown in Fig. 1, 3D printing with carbon fibre reinforced nylon 6 (CF-PA6) materials to fabricate surgical staples.

Products

CD BioSciences is a technology company specializing in 3D printing services, providing comprehensive materials including composite materials to customers worldwide.

Carbon fiber and glass fiber materials are the most commonly used reinforcement materials for composite materials, and thermoplastic materials (such as nylon, PLA, PEEK, ABS) are often used as matrix materials. Carbon fiber has an excellent strength and weight ratio that exceeds aluminum, has superior mechanical properties and chemical stability, and is suitable for manufacturing parts with light weight and high strength. Fiberglass is solid, cost-effective, electrically insulated, and has a low shrinkage in the production process to minimize the risk of warping parts. Fiberglass reinforced 3D printed wire is very valuable for demanding engineering prototypes and final product parts. CD BioSciences also offers ABS-PC composites, with excellent strength and heat resistance.

The high-quality composite materials provided by CD BioSciences can improve the strength, stiffness, heat resistance and durability of traditional 3D printed parts, greatly expanding the application field of 3D printing. Compared with the traditional cumbersome process of manufacturing composite materials, 3D printing greatly simplifies the process, reduces manual operation, and also improves the stability of the product.
